The new 2024 Tesla Model 3 which I now own to me looks very different to the older model so here in NZ the amount of new models we see is still not many in comparison to the flood of the previous model. I still get quite excited when I see a new model.

Thanks for another great video! I've switched to Origin for a week now and most of the time the Origin app doesn't detect my car is plugged in. On most nights it would only charge to 80% although it predicts 100% and sometimes I get "Snap! We can't charge your car right now. It looks like there may be a problem with your charger." The Tesla app shows my car is awake and ready to charge. Strange!

I cant see in the Teslogic app demo a shortcut screen to pre heat the battery.

How does it compare to Polestar 2 Performance? Although slower, but it feels more premium and it includes everything Tesla took away, except the cup holder.

I was able to get it working the first day I tried it. It hasn’t worked since.

Hi Tom, a (hopefully) quick question. If Origin retro-actively charge you 8c/kWh for charging your car based on the charge put into the car and you have a smart charger in place so that it diverts solar generation into the car instead of exporting to the grid, would Origin then charge you for your own generated power going into the car? I guess a way around that would be to only charge the car at night, but for those of us with excess solar without a battery that want to charge our cars off excess solar generation, if Origin is basing their consumption and therefore charging costs to us on what they see in the app, how can they determine if the power is being supplied by them or by our solar system? Or am I missing something?

My audio isn't working. I don't have the external speaker. It's suppose to work in the car speakers. Correct?

Thanks for the steering wheel closeup. Never knew if right-hand drive cars had the gear selector on the left or right side of the wheel. I do love my '24 Model Y dual motor.

The best answer, and most likely reason we can't get our cars to work with Superchargers is Ford and Tesla are using full-spec ISO 15118 plug and charge, so there's a whole PKI certificate exchange that happens that's wildly more complicated than verifying a VIN or MAC address which one of the older standards supports. Those manufacturers that don't have the full specification implemented.

Hi Tom, I am going to purchase my first EV soon and I am thinking between BYD seal premium and polestar 2 long range single motor. I test drove both today and I think I kinda leaning to BYD. I live in Sydney as well, normally just drive around sydney area and probably couple times to Canberra per year. What is your recommendation?

I was seriously considering the Model 3 performance. I had my test drive this week which went well but was disappointed by how much focus is now on the centre screen, the blinker setup, and the quality of the finishes inside. I didn't realise until now the 0 to 100 test would be 3.4 seconds which is another disappointment. The Model 3 range is a little less than I would expect given the claimed range. Im waiting for the Model Y Juniper release information, but as of now, im leaning towards the ioniq 5 N. Thanks for your review.

Is there a way to unlink the Origin apps? What if I move to another energy provider? The apps should provide an easy way to remove access. I cannot see the Origin / Enode listed under third party apps in my Tesla account too

during ordering process I asked for the service interval. in europe they say 1 year or 20.000 km. What is done during your first service after few thousand kilometers? I found your video of the first service. I will know find it out ;) Thx for your great videos! Greetings from Austria

People barely use their blinkers anyway, let alone exiting a round about. I don’t get why everyone is so fussed? Secondly, when I observe other cars on a round about, I never full trust their blinkers anyway and always cautious

Meh, me 1800kg, 320kw that 1835kg and 340kw . Me 3.8 seconds, that 3.6 seconds :). Me saved 30 grand :) and i can go to ikea :) did i mention on roundabouts i indicate using a stalk. i was expecting a real 3 seconds :)

This car just doesn't make sense in Subaru's lineup. It's not even a Subaru anyway. Also it's not just a Marketing thing Re' Subaru in general. They're genuinely quite rugged cars that will actually do mild off-roading well. unlike most other crossover type vehicles that are mostly just show and no substance. But the other thing they're known for is road tripping cars, Tourers , so the limitations this platform has in efficiency and charging limits that would just make any sort of long distance a PITA, just further make no sense for the brand. It was a mistake to bother launching it (IMO)

think Zeekr X will wipe the floor with Solterra and Bz4x

The square steering wheel is a big no, as is the excessive piano-black plastics, but the seats look good. a bit too expensive for the range though.

Toyota must have trademarked that grey colour anytime I see that colour instantly think of Toyota. Reminds of Red Dwarf when Rimmer has the Skutters repaint the ship from/to Military Grey/Ocean Grey. I think your reviews are as similar quality as any automotive journalist and you've had alot of experience reviewing various cars all EV's as well...I prefer your reviews over journo's as I find a number of them have a bent against EV's and feels like they purposely give poor ratings on any EV review they do vs an ICE review....you are totally transparent keep up the great work. Looking forward to your videos from China with Riz and Elliot(of course) :) A few small audio problems on your drive portion from the sound of things hope your mic is ok especially as your about to head off to China.
